Preamble~
As I was saying, I liked school very much but I am done with it now. I suppose I might take a whimsical art or literature class someday, but the real stuff is behind me. All except for the bar exam prep course that starts in two weeks and ends with an excruciating two-day exercise in perseverance and survival. I'm not going to wait until then to begin my post-graduate life, though. I want to stave off the decomposition of my mind that will occur inside the dim light of a television's glow if I am not determined to keep learning and doing... something.
Law school is a wonderful place to go to learn about humanity and what people can accomplish using intelligence and empathy. Now I want to learn what can be accomplished by my human hands. I want to create and sustain things. I have been keeping a garden for a couple years and it's such a wonderful thing. I love coming home everyday and inspecting my little buds to see how each one has changed. I am grateful for the sun and rain not only for their effect on me but because they are feeding my tiny tomatoes. Keeping a garden gives me something to care about which connects me to the movement of life like a string to a kite. When the wind blows, it moves me too.
So, I will be using this blog to help stay devoted to this ideal. I'll write about my experiments and if I'm lazy in my laboratory, I'll have this blank virtual space to remind me of my neglected goals. Like the hand that holds the kite string, this will be my foundation.
